Is anyone concerned about hull fractures around the transom in surf usage?

There are plenty examples of broken or cracked hulls on various manufactures models since the dawn of time.
I doubt it is going to stop today.

I'd say there are less than 10 cracked FZ nano hulls on GH. Not bad considerding the THOUSANDS of units yamaha sells.

I EXCLUSIVLY jump in areas I am familiar with and atleast half a mile offshore. I have absolutly zero ploblems.
Use a little common sense and you will be fine IMO. Don't go jumping the biggest badest wave you can, take it easy at first and familirize youself with the procedure for jumping. As strange as it may sound, you should be able to adjust the throttle, strearing, and rider position all with your eyes closed just be feel once you get a feel for wave jumping. Its taken me about 5 years to get it down perfect.

Take alook under the rear deck of the ski the lenght between the top deck where it finishes and the underneath where the pump/hull is there like a 5 inch distance so when wave jumping the 1st point of contact is under your top deck where the 5 inch gap is so all it doing is pulling the top deck up each time its only a matter of time before its goes.
But if you where doing 180s or broncos there will be no issue as the nose of the ski is its 1st point of contact.
