    S/C Clutch Failure.

My new RXP with 9.4 hours on it has blown the clutch the first time I ran it at W.O.T. This thing hauls. But it`s not for long. I will not take it to a dealer to have some high school kid butcher my ski.
I read some posts about a heavy duty clutch. ??? Where can I find this clutch or info about it. Plese help. I need to fix it before the holiday.

Well I pulled it down to the housing. (still in the ski)
Stuck my finger in the blade and It free spins. No load at all.
I ran the ski for .3 hours after it failed trying to figure out what happend to it. would this be enough time to damage my eng.
I think I`ll pull the motor and remove the front and rear end covers to pull the screens and clean it out. Is this going to be a normal repair every time it fails. How can I head it off before total failure.
I`m a good tech but R&R eng every time. Thats to much.

I assume your ski is new and under warranty with only 9 hours on it? If this is the case don't touch it. Bring it into your dealer.

Be careful with the hd clutches. Stock clutches slip when failing, hd ones explode. With a stock ski under warranty, redo the stock one first. I still run a stock one and it holds up quite well. Just a thought.

Well, it just all depends. Stock ones explode too. We have seen many of them do so. In fact, since green monster has absolutely no tension on it you can bet it exploded as well.

The heavy duty clutches exploded on us because we were shimming them and putting too much tension on them. The heavy duty clutchs are doing great for us now that we dont shim them

My stock SC clutch exploded, SC was toast, oil pump toast with 23 hours on my ski. My dealer had to pull an oil pump off another RXP in the crate, the pumps are on back order until NOVEMBER! Hopefully your dealer will be willing to pull some strings for ya. Goodluck

Hey GreenHulk. I called PPG and they are trying to sell me a complete shaft with all the parts for 400. He said it was a race unit.
I need to know if I can just buy his disc aqnd use them with my stock shaft or do I need to buy the complete unit. Thanks.
