    260x performance

i have been working on a customers ski putting some mods on. it is a 09 260 x.
it has a riva st 1 kit and a R+D performer kit(pulleys, fuel pump, power shot) and a 2.5 degree wedge.
it runs ok but seems to hit a wall at around 8000 rpm and does 71 mph. what is the limiter set at on these things? 3/4 throttle to full it does the same rpm and speed.
the customer also has another ski with just the riva stage 1 and it goes the same speed.
    any ideas?

    thanks
    mark

Hey Mark, I dont know much about these ski's either but I think the limiter is 8000 but could be wrong. May just need to add some pitch. The one person I know of down here that knows those ski's the best now that Skip is no longer with us is Rene, member name pipidulce. Maybe shoot him a pm. He's a real good dude.

Yep, 8900 is correct. Hull speed and prop will hold the boats RPM back. More HP or better hull speed will raise it. But good luck ! 8000 is good @71 mph.

You will need lots of HP to go above this.

8300 all day if you got it all together. Although temps get up pretty high.

Like these guys have said they have an 8900 limiter. However, like you've discovered they hit a wall real quick. The dead spot your talking about is super common. Typical of a restriction in the stock system somewhere but no real solid info on where that restriction is.

Don't worry DrewNJ, trust Kwakka is on to it with the new boat. "Do what you've always done and get the same result, Try something a whole lot different and it may just work out right"
