    08 Ultra 250 problem

My friend just bought this machine with 60 hrs on it and when he took it for a sale, it would hit 63mph then die out to about 35mph. I took it out and to me it almost seems like an electrical issue. It will run strong for a few minutes, then almost sounds like it's dropping to 3 cylinders, but all you have to do is get off the throotle for a second and the power is rite there again. Never pulled the plugs yet but thought I would post to get some ideas. The oil looks clear and was just dealer serviced. What do you think? Donald

DonaldBuck, we siliconed our rubber inlet piece to the airbox. It comes loose/out in the rough. Sirbreaksalot would know cause he's always in the rough. Good call Jetski o'clock.

you talk about the horn sucking against the hull.
When the horn falls off the box or goes up against the hull, air can still get in. so when you say horn against hull it still sucks
Does it even need to be in the boat?

yes it can still get a VERY reduced amount of air/ hence the performance drop

Well personally seeing the advantages of a efficient trumpet/ airhorn on inlet tract to help the reduction of turbulance on DYNO's I will say its better there than not.

I found that the air horn on my 2009 was much more robust than than the one on my 2007. On the 2007, that air horn would get completely sucked into the airbox. The 2009 air horn has an extra lip of rubber on it so it can't get sucked in. . .

BTW, if those are the original Spark Plugs, they need to be yanked and tossed.
