    Question enquiry.. rxp hull with a hayabusa motorcycle engine

    Hi everyone..

    I'm just wondering has anyone ever fitted or try fitting a yamaha hayabusa engine on an RXP hull? Or has anytone tryed fitting it etc..

    i believe zapata did something but it wasnt straight because of gear box ect it was a custom block used hyabusa heads...thinking it may have been a v8

    Your about right, it was basicly 2 hayabusa engines put together in V block formation, uses the haeds and internals but obviosly a new crank and block casting. They make big power, he has been racing it in europe this year.

    2600 cc v8 must eat some fuel...

    its probably fast as hell

    post race interview went something like this..
    ya it was going great boat was running strong... was 2 laps ahead of everyone... then i ran out of gas......lol

    HAYABUSA V8 Engines

    The engine you are looking at is made by Powertec Engineering Ltd (engine with blue pipes) They come in a 2.6 (360hp to 380hp) or 2.8 (430hp to 450hp) all at 10,500rpm. Then there is the Hartley Enterprise www.h1v8.com ($28,000) You can get the H1 in a dry sump version like the PT Engines.
    • 75° odd fire V8
    • 2.8 LITER, 170 cu. in. displacement (3.0 liter optional)
    • 84mm Bore X 63mm Stroke (67 stroke optional)
    • 4 cams, 32 valves via internal silent chain
    • 530mm wide x 485mm long x 530mm high
    • 400HP @ 10,000 rpm with stock street cams (higher spec. is available)
    • 245 ft-lbs torque @ 7500 rpm
    • 200 lbs engine weight
    • Billet nitrided steel 180° crank
    • 4340 H-beam con-rods with ARP bolts
    • Billet 6061-T6 aluminum crankcase
    • Dry sump 0il system with 4 stage pump
    • 7.25" or 5.5" Twin disc clutch
    • DTA S80 full sequential ECU
    Unique cylinder offset and cam drive arrangement yields a compact design- Patent No. 7,168,405
