My latest score to add to my SL650

Was looking to add the extended pump to my SL650 when I came across a whole pump from a slx 1200 on ebay. Not only did I get the extended pump, I got a 6 vein stainless stator and a driveshaft. I figure I can sell off the impeller since I cant use it, and have a pretty cheap upgrade to my pump. I got it all for 200 bucks.

    Great deal....

You can make an extension for the steering cable OR buy the extended one.

I was planning to make one for the steering as well as the trim that I added. Where can I find stainless rod couplers and threaded rod?

You can try a Sears Hardware, Ace hardware, any GOOD mom and pop shop, or try Mcmaster Carr

Do you intend to use the OEM impeller from your 650? I may be wrong here but weren't the pumps on the 650's a smaller diameter than all the other Polaris skis? Wasn't it something like 142mm for the 650 and 146mm for all others?

Anyway, just wanted to give a heads up to make sure you have all the right parts.

The '92 and '93 skis used the smaller diameter pump. From '94 on they all (with few exceptions) used the 146mm modular pump that we all love so much.

IM actually going to use the SBT refurb that I got earlier this year. THis thing seems to perform way better than the stock one. Even added a few MPH on the top end.

Actually, the old one-piece jet pump is 146mm.

The 1994-2004 modular pumps are 148mm

    * Except the Octane stand-up model
