Recommended spark plug for modified FZR

The stock FZR comes with NGK LFR6A spark plugs. When I asked R & D what they recommend for a modified ski, they said NGK LFR5A-11. I plan on putting them in next change (thanks Jerry for sourcing these). Just thought I would pass this on to everyone in this forum.

5 seems like a hot plug to me for a modded motor, I usally go with a cooler plug when modding with big boost or high compression.

For my mods i use stock plugs, But if i had very high boost i would go 1 number cooler like a 7
and the number 11 on the end means it's a 44 thousand gape you do not want that much gape with alot of boost don't forget stock is 34 to 36 thousands.

    Jim, You are the Man!

I'm sure you've forgotten twice as much as I know... If not more!

    Thank-you.

I've had very good luck with the Autolites.

The plug you want is XP5325 and is available at most Advance Auto Parts and Oriley's Auto shops.

I'm thinking I read a year ago or so that the iridium plugs didn't work with our engines.

They work fine if you use one with the right gap. You can't re-gap iridium plugs, so you have to get them already with the correct gap.

I didn't just throw these in my ski either. Bill Chapin recommended them to me. If they're good enough for him, they're good enough for me. I think Desperado is using NGK Iridium Racing plugs as well as a few others.

Is there really any benefit to running these plugs vs the stock ones? I understand they might burn more/ faster but are there any real gains?
