    Going slower with 83mm nozzle?

I ran my ski a week ago with the stock 87mm nozzle. 4'' fizzle intake, solas 15/22r, r & d grate and ran 73.0 gps @ 8200 limiter! So I opt to go and buy the 83 nozzle off the 215 and installed it. Took it for a rip and I was actually having a hard time getting 72 mph @ 8060 59 degrees water temp! Why would I be going slower with the 83 mm nozzle? Should I not be getting like 75 mph with this setup? Is it really worth filling the ride plate holes and trimming the bucket cause I havent done that yet?

any ideas on what could be wrong?

Sounds like the 83mm is too restricted and 87mm too open

Maybe repitch the prop to suit 87mm opening?

De-pitch your prop so that you are getting 8180 with thye 83 nozzle and you will get your speed back. You have lost speed coz you have dropped allot of revs at least 140 rpm, makes a big diffetrence. R88

I really didnt want to fool around with my prop. I was wondering if it would be just as good if i did another mod to get my rpm back up! any suggestions?

What intake/Exhaust are you running? If stock I would say to try and modify that.

I went from 87 to 83 and my rpms stayed the same at 8180. I also gained 2 mph

I'd start with putting the bailer tubes back in. Just to make sure that is not causing your problem

That's a great idea. I have my fingers crossed and hoping I can get my numbers back after there installed! I ordered them should be in Tuesday.
