So, one thing I can't stand about the newer yami's are the all gray trim for the bumpers and seat rail. So tonite I painted the seat rail with a flexible paint. Looks tons better, imo. Hopefully it lasts. I'm also wanting to do my bumpers, but didn't feel like drilling out the rivets and then having to re-rivet them back on.

If you used the Fusion Plastic paint, it will hold up real well after the full cure which takes about 5 days. I did the removable side plates on my Honda with that paint about two months ago and have seen no issues.

The paint he used was SEM Color Coat. It will hold up. I have used it to paint rubber floor mats black, and after over a year in my truck with my feet constantly rubbing them, it has not come off. It's very flexible and durable.

I'll be painting all my bumpers and rub-rails with it this winter.

try drilling out the top of the rivet to get the part off then cut whats left flush w/ the hull. they should stay in place then reassemble w/#10 stainless metal screws right through the center of the rivet still in the hulll. I repainted the nose cowl on my sho and it worked great with those rivets, should be the same for rub rails. hate the gray but fear scuffing off a black coating...keep us posted.

ok, that didn't work. rivets came right out. painted rear bumpers w/dark gray bumper coating and secured w/ stainlss nuts & bolts, had to remove inner plastic reinforcement to get bumper rivets out. reattached reinforcement w/ rivets but drilled bumper mount through hull lip for bolts. the rub rail is attached w/screws. idon't think any coating will stick so i cleaned small scuffs w/ 400 grit wet sanding and flame polished using small torch. looks pretty good
