Pull #1 plug wire, engine stalls, pull #2 or #3 engine continues to run?

Is it normal to pull #1 plug wire while the motor is running and the motor will instantly die but pulling either #2 or #3 the motor continues to run? (2001 GP1200R).

No the engine will run (idle) on one cylinder. Sounds like #2 and #3 are not firing.

So it will run on *any* one cylinder? I thought that it might actually need at least two to idle. So something is up if it dies only when pulling #1... where to begin? Corroded connections somewhere?

Try removing the plug boots and trim the wire back 1/4" and reattach then check for spark on all cylinders.

Cool, will try when put back together. Motor will be apart until maybe mid next week (awaiting parts).

Also check the coil side for loose connection's to the plugs.

was number one the only good cylinder? maybe 2 and 3 didn`t contribute much to keep it running.
