    Food for thought

I was pondering the idea after seeing how Beer is swapping in a 785 of swapping out my 750 for a 1200 into my boat. At this point in timeI wouldn't be able to afford doing it, but eventually I'd like to do some kind of swap. Would the 1200 even fit in this hull? Where is the best place to buy a quality engine? Matrix Man mentioned something about 'Sharp's' in New York but I couldn't find any info on them.

I hear you. It sounds like a sweet idea to me too. Oh, It will fit. I wonder about the engine plate and motor mounts? Beerdart's pro fit on the 750 plate but they are both Fuji motors, might be different with a domestic. I never owned a 1050 or 1200 and was wonder is the 1200 the way to go if I can build a 1050 cheaper? What is the difference 120hp vs 135hp? Hum, I'll have to file this thought in the realm of someday.

You could do it... it'll fit, but the motor mounts will need to be moved, or a custom plate would need to be made. Here's the good news though, although they don't match exactly, the rear ones will be in the correct area. What I mean by that is, if you took a domestic and dropped it in with the rear mounting bar on it, the drive coupler would be in the right spot as far as distances for the driveshaft and so on. You could drop it in with the rear mount in place, and that will tell you exactly where ONLY the front ones would need to be moved to.

I have a sneaky suspicion that this will all be covered soon in a pictorial by someone... hmmmm...

They don't match up ZMANN. The cases and mounting holes are different. You could try and redrill the holes I guess. If you drop the domestic in, with the domestic mount bars on it, the rears will go onto the mounts in the hull. The motor will then sit on the hull in front, letting you know exactly where the mounts need to be, which really isn't to hard to do. It may be worth exploring your idea though... hmmmm...
