    FZS horsepower

I have seen numerous people on greenhulk asking what horsepower a stock FZS has. It isn't published anywhere. It is listed on the title of my ski at 210 HP. How can this be? I can beat/hang with any rxt-x or ultra 260 stock to stock depending on water conditions. I know that the ultra 260 is over 1000 pounds but the sea doo rxt-x is close in weight. Is this thing that under-rated or are the others just over-rated?

Hull design goes a long way. My 2009 fzr is labeled with 154.5kw or 208 horse stock.

Are you talking drag race or top speed? Keep in mind that the tx is gps limited and will run 73+ with just a non governed ecu. Refering to the 2010's but if you are refering to the older models I would agree that hull design is the biggest factor.

GPR's are labelled with 170~HP. It keeps up with most modern skis. Go figure.

Has anyone figured out how to bypass the GPS limiter yet, or are these #'s coming from overseas models?

Some are using the rs ecu's but supposedly riva has a fix that takes care of the gps and boost limiters coming out after the beginning of the year that is supposed to be less than $300. We'll see. The numbers I'm refering to were achieved with the overseas ecu and basic mods such as air intake and intake grate.

Jim knows whats up . The hull and weight are crucial.

+1. 73mph is old news - try 74.5mph with an RS ECU, 4" kanaflex, and a prop! Word from Jerry is a $250 ECU fix in January from Riva. Pair that with the second-best offshore hull in the industry and you have a potent mix in the rough stuff - and that's coming from a Kawasaki fan .
