    Pulled the rxt head....Opinions?

Long story short, I pulled my head today for some piece of mind & a 150hr inspection. I've had symptoms of a blown HG so I thought i'd do it now. I have a Cometic HG and ARP bolts to go back in. I'm running a riva open loop setup on a 2rude with rotax 8300 stock class racing ecu. I'm no expert here at all & this is my 1st time pulling the head, Thanks to seadoo1120 for the advice & tools!!

Is there anything out of the ordinary in these pics? Oh, there's a silver/gray residue on the pisons that wipes off, you can see it on cyl #2 where I wiped it off. C12 was ran in it last, does it leave a film like that?
    Thanks

I know it was banging the limiter for 2 races... Does the rotax 8300 ecu cut fuel?

Jim, all I know is with the rotax ecu there is no detonation protection like you get with the riva ecu. Looks like you were using good quality fuel. We need more opinions.

Looks like a used motor to me that is still in running condition...

Donesn't look like much det if any at all, pistons fine, valves are on the warm/lean side (But even the stockers are pretty lean in some cases, theres no obvious pitting.), its what you expect from an IC engine.

New HG and a quick clean up will do the job.

Whatever you do, do NOT use steel wool on the mating surface! lol

I wonder what you guys think of putting the deck protector in? Stops the sleeves walking... hmmm
Not sure if they are needed in these motors, but by gosh they are very open!
Closed deck = assurity of boost.

Jim, Im falling back to my 2 smoke days here but that looks like deto to me. Have you always ran c-12 in it? If not and you have ran 91 octane with the rude 2 you may need to mix some race fuel in.

When you install the arp studs you have to clearance cut or grind the studs so the head cover fits back on correctly.
