Local machine shop CT?
Looking for a decent shop that will bore/hone or make the determination to just hone my 550 top end.
Anyone use a local shop that has done good work at a reasonable price?

Ok, thanks guys. Haven't checked this thread in a bit. The current bore looks good to me. I'm a rookie with this stuff though, and I need someone to look and tell me what it needs. I haven't bore mic'ed it or anything. Guys in the shop at the hangar took a look last week and thought it was a safe bet to go the .50 over. They also spotted a hairline crack in a water jacket and both top holes of the exhaust flanges are cracked from overtorque. They indicated that this stuff could be welded and the crack possibly brazed?
What is hot tanking?
Slow - maybe I can bring it to you to take a look? Just found your website. Is that your shop or do you work there?

i work at that shop and do alot of side work as well. Hot tanking means to clean the entire cylinder assembly, gets out that scale shit from salt water, and any other foreign crap. I also can weld repair aluminum. Call me 860-538-3113 my name is chris.
