What broke?, did it throw a rod, blow a piston, burn a valve, head gasket? It's a lot cheaper to rebuild if the block, crank, rods, etc. are still good. I have heard nothing good about the SBT engines nor anything else they referb......

Well a month ago the tunnel broke.. Was going top speed @ 74 and it just stopped! came to a stop and it obvious had water in the hull.. I would guess that it Hydro locked.. Took it home drained it out, took to repair shop.. they did all the right stuff.. Repaired the hull. Motor seemed to be okay.. I have only tested it out for a few minutes.. Took it out for one last ride of the season.. I noticed the tone of the engine not the same.. Exhaust sounded not as loud.. after 2 minutes of riding.. Ca BAM! ... there is metal chunks and oil in the bottome of the hull. I would guess it thru a rod.. My guess is that the engine probably had a bent rod from the water from the pump tunnel incident.. I doubt warranty will cover it.. It has some RIVA stuff on it so I am sure I will get he old you modified it.. story.. I just want it to go away at this point!... Buy a new one! ..

wow sorry to hear that dude. I guess your best bet would be to get a use one with some hours on it to keep your cost down.Sounds like all you need is a short block. I think sbt sells them for $2,500- $2,700. I think this might be the best avenue for you to keep your cost down and get you back in the water asap.Hope you get this problem resolved I hate to see an X boat out of comission.
