Replace double lip seal on pump

Has anyone ever replaced a double lip seal on a 140mm pump without using a press. I did it once but I am hoping that there is an easier way than tapping it out with a screwdriver.

I usually change the double lip seal everytime I do a wear ring on older two stroke,I use a seal puller it looks like a curved pointed hook made from flat steel it has two sides one straighter for getting it started then a more curved side to pop it out, just go very careful so you dont damage the needle bearing carrier, its available at every auto parts store, called a seal puller.I then use seadoos tool for inserting new seal I place pump on wooden support clean seal area, put a drop of red loctite on outer edge of seal put it on tool then use a rubber mallet to tap it into place, the seal insertion tool keeps the seal from damage or being inserted too far.It can be done very easy with the seal puller, then you can very gently use a socket to seat seal do not go too deep!JMHO>Marvin
