skegs on RXP
Need to know how does this help MPH. Putting skegs on stock ride plate or welding on some type of extension will this help MPH if it will not help MPH then I do not want to do. Was just wanting info on from others.

Skegs increase straight line tracking through chop while at the same time providing some small measure of lift and therefore less drag...ie more speed.

They make you go slower. but it does change the handleing of the ski

Skeggs will slow you down. They improve turning but create more drag thus less speed. Ask Jim the rideplate man. He will tell you the same.

I dont know what you guys are taking about when I put skegs on my Rxp. I gain 4.5 mph.

I have spoken with Jim @ Jim'sperformance the ride plate guy. I have one of his plates and he told me the skeggs with deffinately slow me down. He told me to cut them off and I would gain 1 to 1.5 mph. I don't see how you could have added 4.5 mph with skeggs. I am only speaking through experience. I have been messing around with ride plates foe a while and Jim has confirmed my personal findings.

WHOA!...what do you all mean.....more drag...less speed?
That is contradictory to what was advertised when new...and also to what I found after being installed on my ski.
