2005 Service Manual, 3-16.
If it is worn, Skat Track can rebuild it with a thicker stainless ring, that resists the warping.
Island Racing can install a plastic liner, and you can purchase extras and service it yourself when it wears.

Its easier for me to remove the pump, then remove the wear ring from the boat and re-assemble on the bench. Then you can check the clearence with a feeler gauge.

I would change it when the clearance begins to exceed the tolerance the specs call for or when you reach the upper limit.
And WFO is correct, it is much easier to check the tolerance when it is on the bench.
Impeller clearance mm (in) 0.35 ~ 0.45 (0.014 ~ 0.01
Impeller clearance limit mm (in) 0.6 (0.02)
Most of the time, cavitation burns will begin to start taking its toll on the liner before you wear out the tolerance limit and you'll notice it as it will start to "slip out of the hole" when you nail it.
I personally like the plastic liners.
Easy to replace youself and cheap. And when you first install it, its a very tight fit.
I got 80 hours on this last liner......but I do keep an OEM stainless one on hand in case I need a quick backup.

125 hours on wear ring.....i thought the plastic liners were junk on modded ski??? Im thinking the all stainless steel riva wear ring is the way to go.
