RXTX -260 Shaft / Prop Seal

Inspecting my prop & grate area and noticed that there is a gap between what appears to be the seal between the shaft and prop. Looks like it was designed to keep water out of the spline area. I can see rust on the spline. Is this a big deal? Can someone advise how to correct the problem. See attached Pic.

it's better to fix it asap
the thing you call seal is actually a seal but called impeller boot (part 267000458 - usd 10 abt.)
    looks like it became lose
both the splined inner space of impeller hub and inner space of impeller boot must be filled with oem synthetic grease 293550010.
And loctite 577 must be applied to boot thread before fixing it to impeller hub

Can I remove the intake grate, apply grease, locktite and just screw it back on? A copy of the manual would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

I hate taking my ski to the dealer. Going to try and repair myself.

Want to install a new Solas 15/22R prop anyway so might as well be now....

I agree on this. Let the dealer do the work. It shouldn't take them long and they can do the prop while they are in there and they should be able to make you a deal since it will be really easy to change the prop while they are fixing the boot.

Actually thats a damn good idea... But just out of curiosity, doesn't the boot just screw back on to the front of the prop. A little loctite and poof its fixied or am I missing something...
