    Pump Question

Looking at current pump just removed, it has the stators machined at the outer edges. The two other pumps i have do not have this machining modification. What does this achieve? What is better? All other features are the same.

Oh....Do you know which pump goes with which craft/year. The modified pump came out of the earliest craft ? my original one, yet the later one from US and one from Queensland was not modded.

Cheers Kawaski Whisperer!....Lx pump then hey? Good to know, might get some machining done, maybe. Or just buy new housing probably easier.

Just machine it mate. (but try it first without machining)

I believe the scallops are to stop the vanes cracking from the incredible horsepower the SC engines make.

If you are pump testing, pizz off the reverse bucket and orientate the two top clamps facing 9 oclock (left) and 3 o clock (right) and ic clamps facing towards rear. Then you can leave plate on and loosen clamps with 6mm socket and 1/4 drive ratchet.

When we go prop testing, we bring two boats. One as test boat and other as the yardstick for acceleration runs (1...2...3....GO's). We bring 3 or 4 pumps preloaded with different props. Turnaround time between runs are a leisurely 10 mins.

Coupled with a few jim tins and an 1100SXR, this is my ideal Sunday arvo.
