I've never heard of anyone modifying an MPEM. I'd like to know if someone can. I know that fuel injected skiis and some carbed models can use software to change the rev limit. Cando, Bud's system and the like.

it can be done. i cant remember who does it right now for some reason. i know you have to send it off and it costs about $350. i wana say deans team does it. but they can change everything on the mpem. the revlimiter, timing curve, retard rate... they just reflash it with the new settings

Then he would have to back date his wire harnesses, coil, gauges, mag cup and mpem...

    Here is another option:

Notice the part number-- if it is 278001526 then it is a dual coil mpem. Then he can sell off his stocker.

Try Novi-Tec they used to reprogram MPEM's.

we mite go to a msd unit but if you use that its waste spark and your battery doesnt charge but it seems like that will be the way we have to go if we cant find anything else i still like to use the ski out with the boiz and the msd one is really only for racing that MPEM on pwc is for a 98 and mines a 99 so it wont work but thanks anyway

That mpem is what you want-- It has already been remapped -- 99-02 carberated 951-- TWIN COIL SETUP. -- LOOK at the part number. The part numbers that will work for your ski are: 278001362, 278001499, 278001526, 278001718, and the 01 RXX mpem that has a couple different part numbers that have been updated.

Some of the best deals out there is when a person does not know what they have AND it works the other way too...

    PM sent...
