    Talking Yamaha fx160 - R1

    Sorry if this is a noobish question or is already answered.Does the fx 160 has exactly the same engine as the R1 motorbike?

    If yes.Will this fit?

    the exhaust system is probably the bigest diference
    it definatly won't be bolt on and go

    Not many parts are the same. Different crankcase (no gearbox on a pwc) different cc's.......R1 revs to 14-15000 rpm HO to 10000, different head & cams etc.

    Even if you got the turbo kit to fit....I would think the engine management system would be completely different.

    it would probably be cheeper and easier to bolt in a 1800 suprcharged sho motor

    both engines are the same apart from the ski engine is marinized, however you will not be able to bolt on and go, the management system will need to be a stand alone system also the internals of the engine will not cope with the boost pressure of a turbo in their stock form on a long term basis. and the heat buildup from it will probably be a big issue.i could go on and on.
    would be real fun if it were bolt and go though
