RXTX-260 Prop / Shaft spline failure (AGAIN!!!)

Road about 15 - 20 miles today through the bay and out to the ocean with a couple of friends. Felt something knocking under the ski followed by a loud whining noise and then no thrust. Engine runs but the ski won't move. Had to get towed back which took over two hours. Recognized the failure as this is now the second time the prop shaft spline failed. WTF!!!! The first time the dealer warranted the prop, wear ring and drive shaft. This is ridiculous!!! I like my ski but come on. Failure, Failure, Failure!!!! Anyone else have this problem. Looking for the cause. Poorly manafactured part. Inncorrectly installed parts. Something... Any advise??? Is there a better shaft that can be use in place of the BRP part???

something doesn't sound right here... Might need a bit more investigation on your/dealer part.

Maybe the stop for the shaft in the PTO is shagged out?

I hear ya but this is now twice. As far as I can tell motor mounts are not broken. Ski was running perfect as it was the last time. No wave jumping today and I havent done much wave jumping at all. Ski broke or at least thats when I heard it while I was crusing, slowed down to investigare and it let go. I agree it needs further inspection. Prop, wear ring and everything else appears normal, no obvious damage. What is the stop?

The TX has hull flex that is why the splines are longer on the TX impellers..... Alignment is a critical issue with the TX. Make damn sure it is perfect. SD knew this was an issue, hence the additional spline lenght.

That would be my guess, engine alignment.
So do all the S3 hulls have this flex?

Thanks for the info. I'm taking it to the dealer for repair and I will mention the alignment issue. Something is not right. You know of anyone else having this issue? First time it happened (approximately 20 hrs or so) SeeDoo said they had never seen this problem and gave the dealer a hard time. They said something must have jammed the prop and questioned the condition of the wear ring. Since the wear ring was fine they warranted the failure.
