A 14 vien skat pump is great for holeshot and acceleration and staying hooked up in rough water but in smooth water flat out speed is not this pumps forte. In rough water the skat pump will be faster than the sock pump. In smooth water stock pump will be faster then the skat pump. A 6 or 8 vien skat pump gives a good combination of speed and hook up.

exactly... you should pull harder out of the hole but your top end will suffer like no other. even the best built superstock gpr's struggle to keep speeds over 80 on glass w/ 14vien pumps...

swap out with the 05 pump and a dynafly or a 8 vien skat, same thing...

the skat pump has a lower top speed and so do the Skat impellers - so you take a double hit

in you want to kepp teh 14 vein to raise top speed you could also try the Skat pump with a Solas Dynafly impeller or with a Skat "R" swirl impeller

Also the Skat Super Slim Line props are good for topend on the XPL's, might consider one of those.

    14 vein skat pump

thanks guys ! i will try an 05 pump with a solas 14/20 swirl, but i think i may need to go for a steeper pitch.Motor is showing 7990 rpm at just over 60mph.I also have an 06 gpr that has a d plate, efi controller, riva race filter , a free flow and riva ride plate with 14/20 swirl and this ski struggles to make 65 mph

7990 ??? That cant be right.

    Is the motor ported ?

Stinger III is costing you top end rpms also.

You may be having a tach malfunction. EFI boats wont turn over 7500 rpms. Rev limiter.

If you can get a stock pipe, D-plate and Jetworks valve, you can maintain the great low end power and have top end too.

PM Fercho- he has a stock stinger and brackets for an EFI boat.
