    Riva FZ Plate

So, the plate seems fast, but it doesn't seem to stay hooked up well for closed course as Carlos was saying. It rides pretty good, just wants to jump out of the water with a lot of power. Not sure if I want to lose as much speed as the worx plate costs, but I am thinking I can live with the R&D plate.

My buddy has the R&D plate with worx sponsons and that thing hoooooooks hard.

I think you may have misunderstood one of my previous post a out the RIVA plate. I said that the plate did not work for me. It wants to bounce at higher speeds and is harder to turn at higher speeds. I got the Worx plate because I am tired of having my FZR bounce around the track.

If you notice my signature, it is for sale.

Sorry, wasn't trying to speak for you, just agreeing that the Riva plate doesn't suit my riding conditions and style as well.

WOW. This is hot topic now. I just called RIVA and the guy told me how everyone on Deans team is using the RIVA plate and it's the R&D plate that bounces and tends to propoise at high speeds. I was thinking about the R&D but the guy kinda convinced me on what he was saying ( not saying your wrong either ) but I will test it out and see how it works for me. BTW Carlos how is the WORX plate compared to the RIVA and has anyone gone from the RIVA to R&D plate ????

So the plate is that good I ve been saying this for a while now.

Yes the plate work but i am sure Deans Team will have a hand full of shims in the rear of the plate.

I raced one of Deans boats with the Riva plate in WF and it handled and hooked up great! Got me a 3:d in Novice Runabout Limited. Dean did some work on it and his son Dustin raced the same boat in Pro Runabout Open and got 2:nd, still with the Riva plate. Dean is the master of tuning the FZ boats and yes there were shims on the back of the plate.

I would like to try the R&D plate, just for experimentation. I have two FZS models; and I can tell you from our experience with using the VX plates, the results from one ski to another and one rider to another will differ. So you can take the same model plate and put it on two identical model skis and get different results. Food for thought.
