    Electrical stator swap

What is the difference between the 650 (analog ignition) stator and the later (digital ignition) stators? I have a flywheel from a 750 (digital ignition) and a CDI from a '97 Pro 785 (digital ignition), but I only have a stator from the original '94 650 (analog ignition). It has been discussed that the flywheel from the 650 does not trigger the later CDI's due to magnet length, but with a compatible flywheel and CDI, what would stop the stator from working? What is different? Aren't the specs the same for both styles?

I cannot tell you exactly what the diff is, but I can tell you that my 650 stator failed after 10 hrs or so of installing the 750 FW and 785 CDI.

I knew that you had tried this and that your stator had failed, but that could have been a coincidence. If the specs are the same, then there should be no difference unless there is a physical difference, the size of the magnets, etc. I really don't want to have to change out a stator in the ski if it fails, but if they are compatible, I don't want to pay for extra parts that I didn't need to begin with.
