Looking forward to the "SHOOTOUTS IN THE SWAMP" as a fan and supporter....just a few Qs..why is it an 1/8 of a mile drag race instead of a traditonal 1/4 mile...1/8 has always been that way for the HYDROS?...safety issue?...Is there a double elimination for all classes?

    It's always been 1/8.

Fair question, the answer is we want to maintain a balance of skill and speed. The fastest PWC does not always win. The combination of good speed, strong acceleration, and the riders ability to come off of the Launch pad clean are the keys to success. In a 1/4 mile it would come down to speed alone and honestly in most classes the PWC are up to speed by that time. and in the Unlimited after about 750 feet very few PWCs are gaining anymore speed.

Question, is it going to be like the previous years? for instance, spectators are free, do we take a canopey for shade or is there going to be some provided? if anyone has been by the location and can provide some details of it id appreciate it.
