    Dealer Service Charges

New England Cycle Center gave me a quote for $300 to winterize my 2008 VX Cruiser and change the oil. Little steep? Looking into how difficult it is to do my own maintenance. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Check your owners manual. Almost all the winterization info such as chaning the oil, plugs, etc should be in there. Its simple to do. My dealer chargred 200$ Also, do a search for "winterization" and you will get tons of good tips.

$300? damm..I am way undercharging then....I know those filters cost pretty big..but are they getting $22 a quart for oil?.

Oh..I forgot..I don't change the seat foam..they must be doing that.

As a former service manager at a dealership you have to compare apples to apples. did they pick up and deliver you ski? Are they storing you battery? Did you have it shrunk wrap? Normal prices are around $100 and oil changes are around $75- $90 with the oil and filter. But there is added charges like some of the aboves. Not everybody needs the whole menu but some people do.
