    XPL Guys what RPM you running...?? or 951's

    Hi was wondering what rpm's people are running in the xpl's. Can be stock or modified just give some detail on whats on it. Maybe temp if it's hot or cold because that could be an easy 100 rpm difference.

    I ran mine today after I finally got my tach and with stock motor and prop along with stock grate and prok's filters turning a consistant 7080 rpm +/- about 30 rpm... after full warm up....the first run was about 7120 ...but as you can see heat soak will rob about 50 rpm.

    Just trying to get baseline numbers on what people are running. Like a Coffmans pipe....or white pipe and so on.

    stock 6900ish
    modded, that will differ with mods. you sound like your real close to the rev limiter(7160 i think). any further mods and your going to need to add pitch. but for what you have its right where you want to be.

    race motors with coffmans and such are turning 7600 or more depending on the setup.

    Prior to SurfNTurf having his way with my carbs about 6950rpm. Once he re-jetted, did hi's and lows and culled the internal filter screens hits 7200 all day long

    Pity I cant ride the thing at the moment and the weather over here in Aus. this weeks been awesome

    you are on the limiter thats why you cant get more than 7200. i would confirm that you are not lean or have an air leak. if all checks out, add some pitch to your prop to get it down around 7k.

    Running 7400-7600 and still tuning. 2002 XPL Lots of mods. Coffman Pipe ADA Head Wiesco Pistons 1mm over Hot Rods crank F/A's VTech reads and spacers Microtouch Ignition Scat D-75 12 vane setback pump with adjustble nozels. Complete alignment . Used to drift left at WFO now its dead on. It just plain Rips now but still no RXP!! Like to try a four blade impeller to see if thats what makes the RXP such a monster out of the Hole
