Whats the best way to remove the stock XP grips?

I took out the black end cap and removed the bolt and washer holding the grip on but they still wont budge. I dont want to cut them off in case the aftermarket ones dont work out so well.

Whats the best way to get the stock grips off of the seadoo xp, its a 2002 if that makes any difference.

I am not sure if there is adhesive under the doo grips. If there is no glue you can use the tip of an air nozzle under the grip at about a 45° angle with decent pressure to blow it off. The air is trapped under the grip and can't get out fast enough and you can slide the grip off on the cushion of air.

They get stuck. Take the screw that holds it on the bar. (under the cap in center) Then Take a big screw driver and Wack the grip all around with the screw driver handle then give it a good tug. Careful when it comes off you can end up on the floor. The grip will slide right off its on a plastic sleeve that is held on the bars with a 2 inch screw and keyed so it wont rotate. But if they are aftermarket just cut them off with a razorblade

Heat 'em up with a high output hair dryer and give 'em a good whack---they'll come off

Thanks for the tips guys, I had some time so I went out to the garage and tried again. I think par of my issue was I was trying to rotate it off, not realizing it was keyed until I read some replys here.

On the flip side due to the unique ends on the bar I dont think cool aftermarket grips will be in my future. I might try and pick up some used grips and cut out the hard plastic center and slip a new grip overtop of that and then slide it on like the factory grips.
