    Crank Shaft

How many hours can you put on a engine before you should replace or overhaul you crank shaft?

Good question. Don't know. I think Wavy Davy over on the Skiworx site had over 800 hours on his Ultra, but he had done several top overhauls. Top ends typically last about 150-250 hours.

FYI it's a 2003 Kawasaki STX di with 166 hours on it. This winter I'm tearing the engine down to reseal the lower end and over haul the top end with new pistons and rings. Also looking to do the Group K stage two porting.
