Just bought 2009 stx with the 1.5 motor anything I need to know?

I owned a Ultra 130 di for 10 years and just got tired of putting money into an old ski that was always having issues. Basically I know my way around a ski but was just wondering if there is anything I should know from the experts here.

Also does the Riva power filter kit fit this model?

Dont bother with the Riva kit. Seans do-it-yerself works just as well and costs about 1/10th as much.
Oh yeah, Congrats. It is a great ski that requires very little maintenance. Besides regular lube of cables etc, change oil after 10 hours and put in synth. After that change it once a year or every 50 hrs. Same with plugs. Check pump bearings every 50 hours. Enjoy......

I thought pump bearing failure was only a 250X issue? Then again I don't know much about 15Fs... . Not sure if the dual bearing setup can be installed on the 15F pump - if it can I would consider switching to it eventually and then just forget about it.

Ride it , have fun , change the oil at 10 hours and after that changed it at the begining of each riding season. the plugs typically will last 2 seasons of 50 hours. Be sure to use anti-seize. I had an issue with pump bearings, it was the engine coupler, Started as a strong viberation about 30 mph. I would strongly recomend getting the extended warranty, That save my butt with the bearing thing. Stay safe and have fun with it.

Look in the how to section, I am Sean, the first one is free

This one is if you have 2 waterboxes http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...Budget-exhaust

This one is if you have 1 waterbox http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...de-2009-and-UP

The 15f's don't have the same problem as the 250x's did, they 15fs get out of alignment and trash the pumps. It's not a bearing load problem but a pump alignment issue.
