    Intermediate Housing

I'm putting a new bearing & seals in the intermediate housing.
Just curious why it's set up have grease pumped in.
    The OEM bearing is sealed???

Water intrusion prevention, cooling for the seals, keeps the water away from the bearing. It's truely an overdesigned part, and I love it. Deal with some of the other hokey-half-ass'd designed feedthru's on the market such as the SD design, and you will be a happy camper.
