best way to get most from stock ic?

hi i have a stock ic with a rd spacer in it.... i live in the uk so i dont think its really necessary to spent hundreds on a pro intercooler as its cold enough here already....

with the spacer i can get the air flow through it but after a while i loose 150rpm through heat soak...

so whats the best and most cost effective way of cooling the intercooler and getting the best from it?

    thanks ian

some do away with the 4 way splitter and run a solo line to the ic from the strainer plate..(fxho) 3 way fitted instead
the guys will chime in who done it with gains if any, other than that i cant see how to gain much more from the stock ic

Run an additional dedicated line and "Y" into the stock IC line right before the IC. To do it you will have to drill and tap the stock strainer plate.

OR, even easier, just order the Riva cooling kit that is for use with the stock IC.

Don't waste your time. IMO, with a C3 & R2 there is no way to get good results with it, even in your cooler climate. Lots of guys are having good results with inexpensive DIY setups using the frozenboost IC's.

Here's the best place for the stocker if you're running higher rpm & boost:

    Some practical suggestions.

Best way to get most from stock ic?
    Here are few ideas:
    • Door stop
    • Paper weight
    • Prawn trap
    • Landfill
    • Cup holder
    • Single line from pump-thru hull-intercooler-as large as possible line going overboard.

I'm sure there are other ideas and performance measurements that can be had.

Thank You, I am totally getting rid of my stock intercooler because it's a waste of time. I spent so much money on my stage II thinking i would be close to 75-78mph not knowing that the only thing holding me back was the stock IC.
