    Welcome to the Hulk

This is a carburetor engine - correct?

What do you mean by 'no RPM'?

MFI doesn't wake up when engine starts? I'll bet there is no RPM display either.

Are you sure all the electrical connections for stator charging circuit are correct?

Bilge pump should run whenever engine is running. That is triggered by the same Yellow wire that sends RPM to the MFI display.

    Charging system is quite simple.

If charging stator coil ohms are correct (while disconnected), then make sure the Red/Purple stator wire is connected to power (with the other Red/Purple wires).

Then the Yellow stator wire goes to the LR regulator, then through the regulator/rectifier to ground. Regulator module must be well grounded.

Regulator must also be connected to Red/Purple.

That is the entire charging system. Follow the wires, make sure all the connections are actually good.

think i found the problem the wiring harness inside mag housing ,from the stator the harness has a hold down bracket then harness turns and exits the housing ,the flywheel ring has cut a groove into the harness and rite into the yellow wire that goes to lr regulator
,it didnt cut it into thats why it ohmed good but it is shorting it out when the motor spins over i will post back. i hope it s the only problem

Another possible test for the tech library
Check stator charging coil ohms to ground (unplugged Yellow and Red/Purple to ground) while cranking the engine...

Someone should check this on a good engine. Does the cranking flywheel pulse the ohm-meter even where there is NO problem?

    2000 genesis

The customer told me he had a stator put on it about a year ago that was the first place i looked but i did not catch it and with it ohming good i didnt pay too close attn. the shop that put stator on didnt get the harness under the clamp rite .I think it was cancelling out the pulse when the teeth passed the wire ,I would like to thank k447 for the help.
