Y800/1200 interchange top end?
i have two bad engines here in the shop and after close inspection of the 1200pv and the 800pv the pistons/cylinders and all look the same, has anyone swapped the two? when looking up piston kits they still list them as seperate but they look identical and think they will work.
both engines, rear oil line came off and have enough to make a good engine (for personal use) for a gp800 that i've had sitting for a while.

800 cls are alot more aggresive in the port timing-check he port holes on the 2 side by side. Otherwise all same dimensions.

i'll check porting tomorrow, from the naked eye they seem identical and could bolt right on. since i have the cylinders off i can make a port map of them too.
do you know if the pistons will swap? they look identical too.

physically they are the same size and have the same bolt patterns etc, but like stated the porting and compression is different. They both use the same piston.
