Do you typically loose a little rpm doing the Riva valve train upgrade?

Only change I made was valve train upgrade. Only lost about 100 rpm. Was seeing 8380-8400 before. Today only 8260-8280. Could be the weather, little more humid today than last time out. Still ran 79.3. I need to pitch my prop anyway to get the rpm's up.

I should add, I didnt do the upgrade. WFO did. Not only is he a top Yamaha guy, but he aint bad with Doo's.

More than likely just a weather condition change.
