Turbo Talk 2011
If it's more comfortable, I've started a new thread to refresh the subject without memories of the past. Very interested, have been hearing about set ups that have little or no lag. Is this possible? Will the engine need removal for modification?

When you go to Turbo ,you need to beef up the internals of your engine .
Im almost there now and have spent lots of money .
You could go turbo on stock engine with low boost ,, but not much point i say.
Plenty of guys have done Turbo setups.

I'm waiting for specs on the new 300x internals to be reveiled. Then i will make an engine to suit. I see lots of benefits for my style of riding.

Your right Nicjak, so what size snail for efficiency @ conservative boost, with waterjacket. Not real concerned about quick spool. For now. Can't find a real lot of info other than GH archive, any links?

Why go to turbo?? Isnt the reason a supercharger is good because you have instant power and no lag, unlike turbo you have lag.I know turbo's are suposedly more efficient since they run off wasted energy or exhaust but on the ski,I would think the superchargers are better.
Please someone elaborate on why so many are looking to go Turbo.
Don't get me wrong,,I'm not bashing turbos just looking for the info.

S/C's are ace. Just bored, turbo homework is keeping me occupied. Don't even bother unless you are prepared to waste, destroy, and have elephant headaches. I would never recommend this to any kawi guy, ever. Just a different setup and gives room to move inside hull and HP wise, major thought must go into the oil lube system or it don't work. Opportunity to use wide range of apparatus and completely customize ski. Yes S/C has no lag, and is instant power from throttle. Turbo can have benefits, just figuring out exactly what they are, and I doubt it is really worth it, but i always do well when i put my mind to it.

We have all the internals sorted, ecu etc. just waiting to get some special cams, once the engine is dialed in we will ditch the pos sc, and go turbo, we want big boost and big hp, thinking of a garrett gt28r I think thats the one, low lag. Can get rid of the lag with the ecu if you dont mind the short turbo life.
Waz's boat we will convert to the new sc, just for fun
check utube for the dsr turbo boat if you want to see the real difference, that thing can move.
