"08 w/200hrs-handlebar play ??
Just noticed riding today, that my bars have a little "play" in them....not the steering, but the actual handlebars have a slight up and down movement....anyone address this??
I'm guessing its either loose bolts, or my steering stem is worn....my 03 gtx started doing the same thing, just never got around to fixing it.
Is it worth fixing,or should i just live with it...?

the bars on these skis except the X models are the same setup as the 90's skis, they are held by a square clamp and 4 hex head bolts hold it down against the steering head.
You must carefully remove the plastic cover to uncover and get to the clamp. Tightened the square clamp evenly as if you were torquing wheel nuts.
add some red loctite to the threads.

like everything else in life, this appears to be a pia!!
tryng to get the steering cover off
looks like the grips have to be removed, then slide back the throttle housing back and the on-off housing as well???

It was the 2 pinch bolts for my steering stem.... pia,but you can reach them under steering assembly inside hull(above fuel sender),if you get excessive play in your steering, check these 2 bolts before you tear apart the handlebar assembly(like i did)
