    skat magnum pump?

looking at getting a skat pump!
but, since i tried the 160mm liner and prop this summer and lost rpms and speed.
i am looking at getting a 155mm magnum pump with 8 veins.
    has anyone tried this approach?
my oem pump has 2 blown out veins and holding.

    Hi there buddy,

I'm on the same position. I want to learn more about these magnum pumps and if it eliminates cavitation all together? Any feed back is appreciated, Julio...

you guys might want to consider the TBM Pump cone/pump stuffer. I have been getting very good feedback on these

i have considered the tbm cone.
but, i do not know if you will still have the pump errosion problem with the tbm cone.
i would love to try one before i buy it! since tbm is like 45 minutes from where i live, i could go to there shop and get some direct info.
the other issue i have heard of is the spacer issue. since i use a skat prop.
and at 500.00 a pop. i could get the skat pump with a new prop for almost twice that.
then there is the seadoo conversion which i am also open too.

I am having a lot of success with my Seadoo pump set-up that I made for my SHO. I started with same pump set-up I am using on my GPR-SHO. I then made some improvements / changes that gave me an extra 1.5 mph. This same set-up could be used on a FZR.

I remain convinced the Seadoo pump is a better designed pump than the Yamaha OEM pump. (larger diameter, more veins, large inner hub and larger pump cone) Even when compared to the Skat pump the Seadoo pump has a larger inner hub and larger pump cone. As the TBM product illustrates, these pumps work better with a larger inner hub and larger cone because this raises the pump pressure.

Also, in your first post you mentioned a Skat 8 vein pump. if you want to use a Skat you might consider the 12 or 14 vein instead. My experience is the 12/14 vein pumps are just as fast and offer improved hook-up over a 6 or 8 vein pump. Comparing 2 pumps back to back with the same impeller, my 155mm 14 vein skat setback pump was just as fast as my 6 vein Yamaha pump. The difference with the Skat was improved hook-up and acceleration. Rocketman recently posted he had similar results (actually in his case his Skat 14 vein pump was slightly faster).

The 14 vein pumps cost a TON more than an 8 vein.

I would consider Phillip's Doo pump conversion before a 3k+ 14 vein pump.
