im about to cut open my mfd but have a question

hey guys im about to cut it open via the new method of cutting after the black lip but have read about it leaving a gap, is there an actual gap or does it just mate together slightly smaller with inperfections that need to be filled?
    cheers

Are we talking about an oval MFD or the round version?

Actually, for both types the gap just gets sealed closed. It isn't that precise a thing

Make the cut as neatly and straight as you can, of course.

It is more important to not cut any more deeply than is needed to just get through the plastic. Take your time.

You'll have a gap as wide as whatever you're using to cut it. I used a band saw and had about a 1/16" gap to fill with epoxy.
