R&D Monster 92+ mph open FZR

Found this and thought it was interesting how R&D is able to get the clutch to hold all the power their C23X boost wheel puts out. 92 mph IN CLOSED COURSE TRIM IS NUTS.

And before anyone even brings it up, yes, it's a Lee Manvell bottom hull. That is not the part that really interests me.

I'd like to know what clutch that is and how long did it last when they hit 92 MPH around a buoy course. How many laps?

It's a 2011 clutch. Have your drive gear lightened and balance by R&D and get their heavy duty clutch saving couplers. Then you should be in business.

Very Impressive!! R&D did a great job getting all the horses out of the FZR engine.

But dont forget the fact that the design and weight of the hull is a huge factor in the speed of a jetski.

So basically this is not a stock hull nor weight!

Its a purely FZR race craft. Wish it participated in Havasu!

But interesting to see if this engine was fitted in a stock hull what speeds would it get to?

I don't think there would be a significant difference in top speed with the same power in a stock hull. IMO, the biggest gains from a lightened hull will come in acceleration & handling. The really impressive thing is it probably did the 92 with a locked down race setup on the hull & pump. I bet it could easily run 4-5mph faster with a top speed setup.
