    motec logging

Im looking at a motec for my 08 Seadoo GTX Limited

My intention is to just use the included logging / lambda time to get a good tune and then never really touch it again (unless i decide to mod further)

If a switch is fitted to turn logging off, does this also stop the timer? or is it the first 8 hours of use regardless if your logging or not?

    thanks
    Luke

    Hi Luke
When the ECU is new you get the first 8 hrs of lambda and logging for free
That timer is triggered by engine RPM, so if you left it idling for 8 hrs, logging all gone.

But have I got a deal for you.

Next week we will release a new product called an M84
Its very similar to an M800 but with less capability
    Uses M800 software.
It has permanant lambda and 512k logging included and will be cheaper than our current M400 ECU
Keep an eye on our website for the details.

    Cheers

Sounds good, sure the M800/400 is overkill anyway.

Hi Not sure what you mean here
DO you want to use the M84 on a Seadoo pre 2010?
If yes, the problem you have is that it is not potted and will not support the special dash comms software that is in the M400 ECU

oh ok, i thought you were suggesting that the M84 would be suitable in your post earlier in this thread.

So M400 is still only option for PWC?

    Sorry
    I missread your first email
I thought you were using the M400 just to log the lambda etc of the factory ECU
I wondered what you were up to
But you want to simply run the MoTeC on your ski to run the engine.
So therefore the M84 will unfortunately not be suitable if you want your dash to work.
Pricing for the RXTX kit can be obtained from anyof our dealers, I would start with Gary Watson

    Regards

oh and also I noticed your model in the first post, an 08 GTX, I am not sure that one of our kits will work on these, you would need to establish if it has the same wiring and ECU connector as the RXP

    Cheers

    Hi Pete,

Is there any way currently that we can log data to our smart phones (like Iphone)?

Or, Is Motec likely to develop (suggestion here) some additional hardware and a Smart phone 'app' which will enable us to log wirelessly to our smart phones?

The current amount of logging memory isn't any where near enough to log on long rides. logging wirelessly to our smartphones while they are in a water tight container in the glove box would be a hit I'm sure. (I'm sure plenty of uses for this in other amature motor racing as well).
