    Winterisation ... question .....

    Hey guys,

    Because of where i live (no snow) do i need to do all the winterisation things that you guys have to ??

    And how do i "fogg" if i dont have an air filteR? or is this the filter ontop of my carbs??

    Winterization is really about storage time, not temperature.

    Engine fogging is protection from corrosion inside the engine. In fact, internal corrosion is a bigger threat in warm or varying temperatures than simple cold.

    PWC engines don't have an air filter. What they do have is a flame arrestor, which sits on top of the carburetors. It looks like an air filter to some.

    The fogging oil spray must go down the carb throats, which means the flame arrestor cover must be removed.

    Some later model years have small access holes in the top cover for inserting the fogging oil spray tip, but otherwise you must lift the FA cover off in order to get the fogging oil down the air intakes and into the engine itself.

    BTW, if you ride in salt water the recommendation is to fog the engine after every day on the water.

    Yeah ive got three air filter type things ontop of my trumpets, is this where the fog oil gets sprayed into>>

    Yes, those would be your flame arrestors.

    You would take them off and then spray the fogging oil down the carburetors while the engine is idling. As soon as all three cylinders are well fogged, shut the engine off.
