    Swap 1200 for 1100?

My 1100 Wave Venture needs a motor and I can get a 1200 for the same price as the 1100 replacement. Can I drop the 1200 in its place? Are there other parts that need to be swapped, i.e. carbs or fuel pump? I was more than pleased with the performance of the 1100 before it blew but as a gearhead, I figured if I was replacing it I might as well upgrade if it's feasible. Thanks.

I have a 96 Wave Venture 1100 also and I have a thread asking about how to get a little more power out of it and I've got several comments of just swapping to a 1200. I am not 100% sure of what all is involved but since Ive been told more then once to do it I can promise you can be done.

The best man to ask details about or get more info from will be Mpeavler. He has/had an 1100 swapped 1200.

Good luck to you and let me know how you like it if you do the swap.

Yes it's a direct drop in ....nothing will change other then you will need to likely get the throttle cable from the 1200 due to the bracked that it uses vs the manifold mounted cable on your 1100. The electrical plugs are the same....but the 1200 simply has more power due to the 84mm slugs vs 81mm and carbs. I would recommend you use the 1100 exhaust if your want top end power and or 1200 exhuast if you want more bottom power. You will also need to mount the "EBOX" since the 1200 has a remote mounted one vs the 1100 which is on the stator cover.

I assume then I'd need 1200 carbs? Thanks for the info, still kicking around what to do.

Preferred over the 38's...but if needed, you could buy an intake to run the 38's over the 44
