Nitro Can I get your Opinion?

    Nitro,

Jrinjax has given me some advice on my problem, I was wondering if I could get yours as well. No disrespect at all to JR, I just respect your opinion as well.

87 Hours on a F12X Turbo and it appears to be seized. Here is the short.

Bought a replacement turbo from www.h20xtreme.net, really good work, I cant believe how much customer service they give. Great guys. Anyway...

We ran it for about an hour yesterday changing the oil a few times to get water out of the oil. ( it had that problem before I bought it)

So anyway ran it on the hose for about an hour yesterday, no problems. Ran fine.

Today we launch it and it ran great for about 10 minutes. We werent pushing it hard at all, and it stalled on coming off plane. We figured its because it was really low on gas. Couldnt get it restarted. Wont even turn over, but you can hear the relay clicking. SO brought it home and I put vice grips on the shaft, its locked up. Cant budge the shaft. We thought possible hydro lock, but the plugs are dry and its still locked up with the plugs out. Pulled the starter and valve cover. I cant see anything but some rust on the cam gears.

I got a pretty good hold on that shaft from underneath and it WONT budge. The ski only has 87 hours on it, how could I have seized it? Any ideas?

Oil level was fine, still milky though.

JR thinks a valve dropped and is locking the engine from turning either way.

Thanks Nitro and thanks to anyone else who has seen this.

1 I would pull the jet pump off First might be seized. 2 pull the oil filter off and see if there's metal fragments.

Jet pump isn't seized. I can wiggle the shaft that goes to it. But cannot move the shaft going into the engine at all. I'll chk the oil filter, good idea. I'm trying to get the head off but everyone says it must be at tdc. I can't rotate the engine so tdc isn't possible for me. Don't know how to pull the head since I can't achieve tdc.

No need to rotate to TDC to disassemble. Just loosen the cam shaft holder bolts evenly.

Your first step is to remove the Cam shaft cover and either loosen the cam chain adjuster or take one cam shaft holder off.

After you do this, see if you can rotate the crank.

Here are the updated pics. Pull the cams. They came right off. I was careful to pull the bolts all evenly. I did not need to even touch the chain tensioner, nor did I have to have it at TDC. Just went slow and careful.

Ive never seen scoring before, is this scoring?

    Crank is still locked up.

I can push down on each valve spring, seems to feel fine. I can hear the valves coming back to their seats.

Sounds like the crank is seized or the pistons welded. What do you guys think so far?

    Pull the motor out.

Get an engine stand and modify it like mine. You have a problem now that needs the motor pulled.

Pulled the head. Mild scoring on the cylinders. Evidence of leaking water past the head gasket.

Still seized. Here are the pics. Next post is the video.

Looks like too much carbon on top the pistons, but I dont know these engines. Hopefully someone can chime in about that.
