    Low boost help please

    My supercharge belt broke after 152 hours. I changed the belt and in the process cleaned up the intercooler which had minor oil residue by opening only one of the caps. I must say that I did not take the BOV out when I used gas to wash the intercooler. Now I have very crisp throttle and high rpm but only 2/3 lbs of boost. Any advice would be much appreciated. My ski is bone stock except catch can mod.

    1. loose belt
    2. BOV needs blocking off ( NOW )
    3. loose hose clamp on tne induction circuit.
    4. WOT rpm are you turning ?

    Thank you for the reply sir.
    I double checked all except blocking BOV and I get real high rpm.
    Only 2/3 lbs boost around 5/6k rpm is indicated on the instrument.

    When is the crystal ball back?

    when u say 2/3 lbs

    do u mean 2 or 3 lbs

    or 2/3rds of the gauge

    you say you only pulled one cap off im guessing you mean i/c tank end did you seal it up correctly? its pretty obvious you have a leak somewhere and know amount off questions on here are going to find it for you you need to check all clamps and tank ends the problem has been created by you and only you can fix it good luck

    Thanks for the reply nicjac. Im going to pull the intercooler out today and check make sure there is no leak from the cap. I was trying to get other folks opinion with more experience with this motor. Its my first time working on the ski.

    im sure you will find your leak with a bit of patience even if it is your first time working on the ski you know what you removed and replaced so there is a pretty good chance your problem will be somewhere there

    Thanks again, As you mentioned it must have been something I had done…..poor job on the intercooler cap. It was my first suspect but thank you for your re enforcing the fact. Its all good now.
    BTW I don’t have the tool to measure the tightness of the belt. What would be your advice on that?
    I reasonably tightened the belt and visually did not see any slippage.

    if you can twist the bottom section of the belt roughly 1/4 twist thats pretty close 1/2 twist is too loose
