    Winterized today...WHAT IS THIS????

Went to pull the plugs and couldn't get #3 out. I thought the hex on the plug was stripped until I put some light down the hole and found this, a black round plastic ring. It has no markings on it and it doesn't look like it came from the ignition boot. I did the winterization last year and ran all Summer this way, no issues.

Any guesses as to where this thing came from?

That looks to be a rubber insert to a spark plug socket, used to keep the plug IN the socket...

Looks like a rubber ring designed to stay in your spark plug socket, prob stayed in when you installed the plug the last time. Check your socket for the missing rubber!!

Either you or the last guy that worked on the ski didn't notice that the plug socket has lost its rubber... It isn't fixed in the socket usually, so it does come out with a bit of wiggling sometimes...

This isn't the rubber piece of a socket, it is a hard plastic ring. My spark plug socket still has the rubber piece in it.

Hey there, can't help you out as to what the rubber ring is, but I noticed the threaded caps on top of your plugs are off. I'm assuming they are stuck in the coils right? Does this happen to everyones? Becase I have had them caps stuck in my coils since the first plug change :/

There seems to be a black stain of some sort on the other plug in the pic, maybe that had a rubber ring on it at some stage also...

    Hey mate,

The caps aren't meant to be on the DCPR8E's on the 4TEC's.
You remove the caps before fitting them.
Its pretty important you remove them on every spark plug service, but you'd find out soon enough that they aren't meant to be there.

They are not stuck in your coil plugs.

Ahh thanks for that. Yer I realized pretty quickly that I had to remove the caps, I was just thinking that the original caps were stuck in coil because it kind of looks that way when you shine a light up the coil.
    Cheers for clearing that up.

No worries, I'm still learning everyday about the ski.

    Really enjoying it
