    Advice on timing key

Iv got an 05 gp1300r. Iv installed a jetworks mod and was thinking about adding a 3deg timing keyway......is this ok to install without an EFI controller or do u need to add extra fuel.

It would be best to add a controller with the key. It would probably be OK, but better to be safe than sorry.

Timing will increase heat and it can only be cool by adding fuel.

Depends who you get the key from.

Fercho has his hand made by a machenist. We check each one for the proper offset.

I got mine from fercho..perfect fit..pain to install...worth it when you pull the trigger...while your in there put in the d-plate and install the efi controller....then go buy a steeper prop.

If you could pull the engine which isn't a big deal with any kind of small hoist it would be alot easier plus you could see exactly what you are doing.
Heck you don't have to pull it all the way out. Just pull it above the seat opening a lay a board across the opening and let the engine rest on it. Like that you don't have to take the starter cable off

I lifted mine up w/ a ratchet tie down strap wrapped around a square metal tube across the seat opening.got a peace of mirrored lexan and layed in the bottom.worked pretty good...still a pain in the back, but not too bad once you have done one.
