Over heating og the waear ring?
Had my ski at the dealership for warranty work. Took ski out for testing and was on rev limiter hard, but should not have been, and experienced massive cavitation on holeshot, where there was none before. Got the ski back on the trailer and doing my impression of a proctoligist, looked into the venturi observing brown marks on 2 of the 4 blades!!!
Went home, removed the impeller and saw this:
I think I know the answer, but I'd like to hear from the experts. Is this caused by revving the engine to a high rpm while the ski is sitting on the trailer?
Also, I measured the clearance....its a loose .014.

It looks like your pump bearing is going out.

I had the same problems as you.
You must not start your engine out of the water ,with the new wearring.
The first start must be in the water.
Read my thread ,i did all kind of things and nothing helped, but now i'm fine for more then 40 hrs since.
